The Video Consortium is a global community that supports and connects nonfiction video creators to engage audiences and bring together today's documentary filmmakers, video journalists, and local newsrooms.
VC works to democratize and diversify the field, to ensure that all nonfiction video professionals are equipped to produce and release compelling, impactful stories. They provide resources and build community through local chapters around the globe to errode the barrier of entry and demystify the visual storytelling process.
They use “nonfiction video” as an umbrella term to describe the connected fields of documentary filmmaking, visual journalism, and social [fact-based] media— all forms that serve the urgent need for truth in this new age of misinformation.
The goal for this project was to elevate, expand, and standardize a branding system and develop a workflow of creating those assets that was accessible to internal teams as well as organizers and leads for local chapters across the globe.
The main focus was the social media toolkit which was used to announce events, share stories from VC members, provide links to resources like grants, jobs, and freelance gigs, etc. In addition, I created templates for printed materials, business cards, documents, and digital needs for their Youtube channel (video cards, credits, thumbnails), newsletters, and event listings.
